Founded in 1898, the "Ansitz Villa Rasslhof" can look back on a long family tradition when Simon Zelger, the landlords great-great-grandfather started to grow and produce his wine from his own vineyards. The name "Ansitz Villa Rasslhof" stems from the young vines called "Rasseln" in the local language.
We can proudly say that up till now we have always and never stopped growing wine on our vineyard.
Our "Buschenschank" has been authentically integrated in our vineyard and invites our valued guests on a historical journey to more than 100 years of wine growing. Experience the feeling of sitting inside our "Mass-Schaffel" for example, one of the first hydraulic wine presses in our region or enjoy our homemade food in a huge wine barrel with chairs and tables made from original barrel wood, uniquely styled.
At the entrance one can see a historic sandstone sculpture, the so called "Kalterer Mandel" which was created a long time before the Vineyard was built. It shows its "lower back" towards the town of Kaltern and is therefore a stony witness to the feud between the towns of Kaltern and Tramin a very long time ago.
Enjoy our Mediterranean climate in our picturesque courtyard with its lovely little alcoves. Rich vegetation and atmospheric ambience will never let you forget your time at "Buschenschank Familie Gamper".
